Moraine Valley supports women considering careers in technology through its Women in Technology Mentoring Program. The program is supported by a grant from the .
The mentoring group allow students entering programs in technology to connect with experienced female students and professionals. These mentors can provide guidance, answer questions and share information about career opportunities. The unique relationship between students and professionals makes the transition from college into the work world smoother and less intimidating.

I pursued certifications in 3D Design, Architectural CAD, Autodesk Inventor Specialist and Mechanical Design Technology. I am currently a project manager at HBK Engineering, which is where I started my career as an intern in 2011. I was in a technical role for my first 7 years where I had the opportunity to work on civil, electrical, structural, and subsurface utility engineering designs. In 2018, I started to transition into project management and utility consulting services for real estate developers and general contractors. My primary focus is in electrical distribution infrastructure engineering, more specifically utility vaults for high rise developments and large customer new business and modernization projects. I am an active member of our divisional leadership group, Power Community of Practice and am also the Women in Engineering Chair for the IEEE Power and Energy Society Chicago Chapter Executive Board. |

Professor Ismail is also certified in Six Sigma and holds the OSHA 30-hour certificate. Professor Ismail started her career developing high efficiency lighting systems in the important area of energy conservation consulting. Today, she is familiar with the inner workings of contemporary building construction, and including high-bay warehousing, the cornerstone of modern supply chains. Working for a leading construction company in Chicago, Professor Ismail has managed projects valued at more than a quarter of a billion dollars! A team player, Professor Ismail has collaborated with architects, engineers and contractors to build nearly 10 million square feet in her 10 years' experience. Professor Ismail has taught electrical and mechanical undergraduate engineering courses at Moraine Valley for 5 years. A deeply involved member of the professional engineering community, amongst others, Ismail is a member of national organizations including the Society of Automotive Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. |

I completed my Certificate at MVCC in Deaf Studies in 2021. I have been working as an Administrative Assistant for many years. I recently began working at a Presbyterian Church. Part of my duties is publishing their monthly newsletter, weekly bulletins, and event flyers. I have been using Microsoft Publisher. Microsoft is discontinuing Publisher in October of 2026. I needed to learn a new design program and was pleased to find out that Moraine Valley offers programs for graphic design and many other technology classes. |
