The Moraine Valley Foundation will hold its annual Gateways Gala on Friday, April 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., in Building M on the main campus in Palos Hills, 9000 W. College Parkway. The theme for this year鈥檚 annual fundraising event is Empowering Career Programs.
The Foundation hopes to raise $100,000 to support Moraine Valley鈥檚 Career Programs, including Heating and Air Conditioning, Automotive Technology, Automation and Engineering Technology, and Welding. Funds will support student scholarships and the purchase of necessary supplies for students to successfully pursue their programs.
鈥淢oraine Valley鈥檚 Career Programs train students to excel in the trades and prepare them for stable, in-demand careers that help build strong communities. We are eager to spotlight the college鈥檚 Career Programs in such a tangible way. Students in these programs are required to purchase equipment, uniforms and textbooks, which can sometimes cause financial strain. We want to help make it easier for them to focus on their studies and training,鈥 said Kalynn Duggan, special events and donor relations manager in the Foundation.
The evening will feature a live performance by The BirkenRocks band; a live auction for trips, dining and entertainment experiences; a silent auction with weekend trips, restaurant gift baskets and family fun packages; games; raffles and interactive displays. Raffle prizes include a $1,500 Southwest Airlines gift card, $1,000 Airbnb gift card, $300 Cozymeal gift card and more. Attendees will enjoy food prepared by Country House and Moraine Valley Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry programs.
Courtney Spinelli, reporter and weekend anchor for WGN News Chicago, will be the gala鈥檚 emcee.
Moraine Valley alumni can purchase tickets for a special price of $99. The regular ticket price is $125. To purchase event and raffle tickets and learn about available sponsorships, visit .
