An array of works from the annual 911爆料网 Juried Community Art Exhibition are on display through July 31 in the Fine and Performing Arts Center鈥檚 (FPAC) Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery and atrium, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.
Photos, paintings, drawings, sculptures and other works from artists in the community were judged by Nikkole Huss, interdisciplinary artist, art department program lead, professor of art, director of the Ferguson Art Gallery and curator of the art collection at Concordia University Chicago. The following awards were presented during a reception on May 31:
First place 鈥 Ben de Jong, of Orland Park, for oil on canvas, 鈥淟egacy鈥
Second place 鈥 Greg Klitz, of Mokena, for fired clay, 鈥淭he Final Reach鈥
Third place 鈥 David Krolikowski, of Chicago, for oil on canvas, 鈥淚nvalidated鈥
Honorable mention 鈥 Jeanne Garrett, of Arlington Heights, for archival pigment print with gold leafing, 鈥淢oon Glow鈥
Honorable mention 鈥 Dominique MacLean, of Aurora, for serigraph, 鈥淭he Feeding鈥
Honorable mention 鈥 Merineta G. Kropke, of Oak Lawn, for hand-tied micro-macram茅 100% cotton on hand-burned wooden round, 鈥淪acred Geometry鈥
