Registration is ongoing for spring community program and career training courses at 911爆料网. Courses are offered at all three campus locations, including the main campus in Palos Hills, the Southwest Education Center in Tinley Park and Education Center at Blue Island.
These courses provide opportunities for personal enrichment and training without the rigid requirements of traditional academic programs.
Personal enrichment programs provide space for learning and creative exploration, allowing students to pursue interests and cultivate new talents. New personal enrichment programs this spring, with tuition ranging from $30 to $80, include Native American Beading: Bracelet, Painting Ornate Easter Eggs, Artful Evenings paint parties, It鈥檚 Cooler in the Woods and a variety of other courses honoring Native American traditions. Career training programs provide tools, certifications and confidence for advancement or a fresh start in a career. Courses range from Veterinary Assistant to Real Estate Law and Forklift Operator Train & Safe to Food Service Sanitation.
Alyssa McKinney, a student in the Pharmacy Technician Certification Program, shared that her coursework helped her build a strong foundation and get a head start on a career in health care. 鈥淭his program is setting me up for success in the nursing field. It鈥檚 given me confidence,鈥 she explained.
McKinney completed her clinicals in a retail pharmacy setting and immediately was hired at Walgreens due to her training. With real-world experience under her belt, she now is balancing her work as a pharmacy technician while preparing to take additional classes toward her associate degree in Nursing. McKinney shared, 鈥淭here are so many avenues in health care. Just getting started somewhere is what matters.鈥
