Your Roadmap to Financial Aid: Join Us for FAFSA Assistance Event
Do you need help demystifying college financial aid? Students, along with their parent(s) or spouse can work with Moraine Valley’s Financial Aid office to get one-on-one assistance in completing their 2024-2025 FAFSA and creating their FSA ID username and password.

Please register for our upcoming session, Saturday, Aug. 10
10 a.m.-2 p.m.

For these workshops, students will need to bring the following documents:
• Your social security number or your USCIS Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
• Yours and your parents’ 2022 federal income tax returns, 2022 W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You must transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the Future Act Direct Data Exchange [FA-DDX].)
• Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
• Records of untaxed income (if applicable)

For the 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form, all contributors [student, spouse, parent] are required to have an FSA ID to complete and sign the form online.

If you already created an FSA ID, please bring your login information.

The Moraine Valley Financial Aid Office is hosting FAFSA (Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid) workshops on Tuesdays, every hour from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshops will be held on our main Palos Hills campus in Building S, room 225. Here, students can get additional help with completing their FAFSA form. The dates are as follows:

March 3
March 17
March 24
March 31
April 7
April 14
April 21
April 28
May 5
May 12
May 19

For these workshops, students will need to bring the following documents:

  • Your Social Security Number
  • ³Û´Ç³Ü°ùÌýUSCIS Registration Number (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
  • Yours and your parent’s federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned. (Note: You may be able to transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool. For the 2025-26 FAFSA, we look at 2023 tax info.)
  • Bank statements and records of investments (if applicable)
  • Records of untaxed income (if applicable)
  • An FSA ID to sign electronically (one for you and one for one of your parents)
  • Demographic parental information (Social Security numbers,
    dates of birth, marital status dates [dates of marriages, divorces
    or separation])

For FAFSA purposes, a student is considered independent and does not need parental information if they are 24 or older, are married, or have a child they provide more than half of their support for.
